These Terms govern your use of Landfall (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without liability.

Not financial advice

Landfall is a planning and educational tool. Its forecasts are estimates based on the assumptions and figures you provide, and are not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Outcomes are not guaranteed. Consult a qualified professional before making decisions, and verify any figure that matters against authoritative sources.

Nature of forecasts

Landfall's forecasts are hypothetical, illustrative projections based on the figures and assumptions you provide. An output such as a projected retirement age or year is not a guarantee, prediction, or promise of any actual result, and real outcomes will differ. The projections are only as good as the inputs behind them; Landfall is not responsible for results based on inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information you enter.

Age requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Account security

You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address associated with your account, which is used for sign-in verification. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We are not liable for loss resulting from unauthorized access to your account.

Your content

You own the financial information you enter. By using the Service you grant us a limited licence to store and process it solely to provide the Service to you. You represent that you have the right to provide the information you enter.

The software

These Terms govern your use of the hosted Service, not the software behind it. Landfall's source code is available separately under its own licence, the PolyForm Noncommercial License; your use of the code is governed by that licence, which you can read in the LICENSE file in our repository.

Deleting your data

You may delete your account at any time from your account page. Deleting your account permanently erases your account and all data in every household you own, including households you share with others; when you delete your account you may choose to keep a shared household for its remaining owners instead. You may also delete or leave an individual household, or remove individual records as you work. Deletion takes effect immediately in the live Service. We keep encrypted backups only for disaster recovery, retain them for up to 90 days, and never use them to restore an account you have deleted.

Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Use automated tools to scrape or disrupt the Service
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any forecast is accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or financial loss, arising from your use of the Service.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Landfall and POMDP, LLC from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your reliance on the Service's outputs for an actual financial decision.

Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account as described above. The sections that by their nature should outlast your use, including Not financial advice, Nature of forecasts, Disclaimer of warranties, Limitation of liability, and Indemnification, continue to apply after termination.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Service or these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.

Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior understandings.
