Landfall

About Landfall™

A single, well-modeled home for your financial planning.

Most people answer "when can I retire?" one of two ways: with a tangle of spreadsheets that grow unwieldy and hard to trust, or by paying a professional to run the numbers for them. Landfall gives you a third option: one robust, double-entry model you run yourself. It is better structured than a spreadsheet and catches the hard-to-find errors those spreadsheets hide, and unlike a one-off paid analysis it is yours to re-run, adjust, and explore whenever you like, for free.

Two things sit at the center of it. Landfall forecasts your finances year by year into the future, fully drillable down to the account and the transaction, with a Tax Details view that shows how each year’s taxes are figured. And it lets you explore: change a plan or an assumption and watch the forecast move, so you can weigh a decision before you make it.

Why it's free

I built Landfall because I needed it myself, and I'd rather share something useful than lock it away. I'm not trying to make money from it, which is exactly why there's nothing to upsell, no ads, and no reason to touch your data. Where other tools give you a crippled free version, a stream of marketing email, and a constant nudge to upgrade, Landfall simply stays out of your way.

If Landfall has been useful to you and you'd like to say thanks, it's appreciated but never expected:

Your data is yours

There are no ads and no trackers, we never sell or share your information, and we email you only to send a sign-in code or an essential notice, never marketing. You do not even need to hand over an email to use it. Our privacy approach spells out the rest, including how your data is protected and how to remove it. And because Landfall is source-available, you can self-host your own private instance and keep your data entirely on your own machine.

Can you trust it?

Trust it, but verify it. No forecasting tool is perfect, and Landfall's numbers are only as good as the figures and assumptions you give it. What it does give you is transparency: every result is fully drillable, so you can follow the reasoning year by year and account by account rather than taking a single number on faith. Before a decision that matters, satisfy yourself the numbers are right, and consider checking with a qualified professional. The Terms of Service cover this in full: Landfall is a planning tool, not financial advice.

How does it compare?

Landfall isn't the only good way to plan your finances, and depending on what you care about (price, privacy, depth, or maturity), one of the other tools out there may suit you better. We've laid out the landscape honestly, including where the others are stronger, so you can choose for yourself. See how Landfall compares.
